Proposal to start Metro M.Tech Courses in IIT’s by Delhi Metro

As we all know that Metro Rail is becoming an integral part of transport infrastructure in Delhi and also envisaging to coming up in other states, The Delhi Metro is looking forward for engineers specially qualified in this technology.

The Delhi Metro Officials, wrote to the Human Resources Development (HRD) Ministry to introduce such courses in The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

E Sreedharan, managing director of Delhi Metro urged that the Post Graduate Courses in different disciplines concerning to Metro Technology should be launched in IITs.

He further informed that to meet the demand in near future, at least 50 engineers should pass out every year.

Mr. Sreedharan said that they have advised the HRD Ministry to start courses in Metro Technology in the prestigious IIT's. They further went on to say that they don't want a regular Civil Engineering course, but professionals in Electrical, Signaling and Air-Conditioning Engineering.
