Deadline for admission to Pre Doctoral and Ph.D programme at Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar

Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar has invited application for eligible candidates for the admission of Pre Doctoral and Ph.D programmes. Selection procedure will be based on written test followed by personal interview. The final selection will be based on the scores of both the written test and interview. Candidates are requested to download the application form from institute website http://www.iopb.res.in/

Applicants must send their application only by E-mail as a PDF/DOC file to admit@iopb.res.in on or before the deadline.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants should possess M.Sc degree in Physics with at least 55% marks (in aggregate).
• Admission seekers must have a valid GATE score with rank up to 200 or
• Candidates should have qualified national level examination CSIR-UGC- NET within the last one-year or
• Aspirants who are offered DST-Inspire fellowship for carrying out PhD program can apply.
• Admission seekers appearing for the final semester/year of M.Sc who have qualified in GATE or CSIR/UGC-NET or have attained DST-Inspire fellowship are also eligible to apply.
• Aspirants who have qualified JEST-2013 with 25 marks or above (cutoff rank of 174) need not to submit application. The institute will directly contact them.

The Institute Of Physics, Bhubaneswar is an autonomous research institution funded jointly by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and the Government of Orissa. The Institute was officially established in 1972 by the Government of Orissa. The Institute runs regular pre-doctoral (M. Sc.) and doctoral (Ph.D) programmes for postgraduate students of physics. The course work is planned to emphasize doctoral research and teaching skills.
