Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) will conduct CAT 2015 for admission to all 19 Indian Institutes of Management (IIM), according to Dr. Rohit Kapoor, the Convener of CAT 2014. IIM Ahmedabad is credited to have conducted the first online CAT exam in 2009. The Convener for CAT 2015 is Prof. Tathagata Bandyopadhyay, IIM Ahmedabad.
The Common Admission Test 2015 is a national level entrance test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to the Post-Graduate and Fellow Programs in management courses of several management institutes in India including the IIM’s. As of today, well over 100 B-Schools in India accept the CAT score.
The CAT entrance exam is a 3 pronged process. The first is the online exam likely to be conducted on November 29, 2015. On the basis of CAT percentile score, eligible candidates are short listed and called for the Written Aptitude Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

Changes in CAT 2015
- 2015 CAT will see an increased duration to 180 minutes as opposed 170 minutes in the previous years.
- There is no sectional time limit.
- Students can attempt any section first.
CAT is a computer based test with 2 major sections:
- Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation
- Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning
Each section carries 50 objective type questions, making the total no of questions to 100. For every correct answer, a student gets 3 marks and for every negative answer, 1 mark is deducted.
