COMEDK UGET & PGET May Go Online From 2016

From next year, COMEDK (Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET) and Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) are likely to switch from the conventional pen-paper mode to the computer-based exam format.

COMEDK has made this proposal considering the growing number of outstation candidates applying for the exam.

Usually, the number of applications for the UGET exam is between 65,000 to 85,000 every year. However, around 1.8 lakh candidates applied for the UGET 2015. Out of this number, a multitude of aspirants hail from outside the state of Karnataka.

These candidates spend significant amount of time and money to sit for the examinations conducted at the state. They take several trips to the state to appear for the test, for counselling sessions, etc. Therefore, the proposal to shift to online mode is being considered in order to aid such students.

The adoption of online UGET and PGET examinations means applicants applying from outside Karnataka would not need to travel all the way to the state to appear for the tests, which means it would save them a lot of time, money and effort.
 

The counselling processes after the examinations would be conducted in the same conventional offline method.

COMEDK UGET 2015 for admission to undergraduate (UG) medical, dental and engineering courses in COMEDK member institutes was held on May 10, 2015 (Sunday). The results for the same were announced on June 8, 2015 (Monday) on the official website.

COMEDK PGET 2015 for admission to postgraduate (PG) medical and dental courses in COMEDK member institutions was conducted on February 1, 2015 (Sunday). The results for the same were published in the same month.
