Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce is a teaching institution at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels dedicated to advancing the theory and analysis of commerce, economics and management.This co-education college is founded in 1984. This is one the Institutes sponsored by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committe.
USP: The faculty and infrastructure. “Our teachers are very supportive and encouraging,” says Ahuja, adding, “the lectures are so good that I don’t feel the need for private tuitions.”
Programmes: The college offers several undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, some of which are: BCom (hons), BCom (prog), bachelor of business economics, BSc computer science and Economics (hons) at the undergraduate level. At the postgraduate level, you have a diploma in business journalism and corporate communication and postgraduate diploma in international marketing.
IT Quotient: The campus is WiFi enabled and has up-to-date computer labs with UPS for uninterrupted power supply.
Infrastructure: The college offers its students various outdoor and indoor sports to choose from. It boasts of a cricket academy, a well-maintained basketball court, lawn tennis and table tennis facilities.
The library is spread over three floors and is fully air-conditioned, with a rich collection of more than 29,000 books on disciplines such as commerce, economics, computer science, management etc. Various national and international newspapers, journals, periodicals and magazines are also available.
The classrooms are well maintained, spacious and airy. Lectures for BBE students are held in air-conditioned classrooms. Some laboratories have provisions for projectors, where students make their presentations. Each department has its own laboratory.
The college also got the best auditorium award recently by the chief minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit. Interestingly, there’s also a gurudwara on campus, which is fully air-conditioned; and a state-of-the art gymnasium.

Peer learning and faculty interactions beyond classrooms help you gain an edge over the competition,” says Apoorva, a BCom programme third-year student.
Clubs and societies: The college boasts of an extremely vibrant extracurricular activities culture. Some of the prominent societies include: Urja, the commerce society; Manchtantra, the dramatics society; ASBE, the society of the association of students of business economics; ACE, society for computer enthusiasts; Divinity society and others.

Wishlist: “I wish the dress code in the college could be done away with. Girls are not allowed to wear sleeveless clothes, capris, shorts and skirts. Jeans and suits are the only two choices we have,” says a student who does not wish to be named.
