The Common Entrance Test (CET) for engineering courses will be held according to the state syllabus as the national curriculum for II PUC had been implemented only from 2012-2013.

CT Ravi, minister of higher education said that the decision regarding the entrance test for medical courses will be taken after the Supreme Court’s verdict on the matter.


All the states are asked by the Centre to follow the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to medical courses across the nation. While some states oppose the decision made, the court’s judgment is still to be announced soon.


The Centre has proposed the Common Eligibility Entrance (CEE) for engineering courses across the country.


However, states like:

 

Implemented the national curriculum syllabus only this year. "The first batch of those following the new syllabus will emerge in 2014. Therefore, the state can implement CEE only then," Ravi says as the tussle between the Centre and the states continues over the former’s move to introduce CEE.
