Centre for Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at ITM University

ITM University newly launches the centre for Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In its inaugural ceremony on September 27, 2013, Padma Bhushan awardee, Mr Ajai Chowdhry, the founder of HCL launched the initiative at a jam packed seminar hall at ITM University.

In his keynote address through a powerful and uplifting speech, Mr Ajai Chowdhry said, ‘You must have an idea and then you should be fearless, full of passion and zeal to pursue it to the end. If you have the will, the resources constraints shall not stop you’. Citing his own example of how, he along with other four friends pursued the dream to make a company what is worth seven billion dollars today. He said the response of students from various IITs with whom he has been associated, in taking the Minor Course on Entrepreneurship, has been phenomenal. ‘It makes increased sense for the engineering students to take the course, as they are more inclined to innovation’, he said.

The students were also addressed by the Vice Chancellor who explained them how they could rely on resources support, in-built in the university system itself. He explained to them amidst cheers, about the Vice Chancellor's Innovation Fund which he said was meant for the budding young innovators with new ideas which could be transformed into a business plan or for industry usage, and worthy of incubation. He said that the University can be proud of having a person of eminence as Mr Ajai Chowdhry, the Distinguished Adjunct faculty at ITMU to teach entrepreneurship at ITM University.

This was then followed by students interaction with the panel of experts. This session was engaging and interactive and helped in clarifying various doubts in the minds of the students.
