Celebration of 52nd National Pharmacy Week at NIET

Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology (NIET), celebrated 52nd National Pharmacy Week on November 19-20, 2013 with fervour.

On the occasion of this a seminar was organized on November 20.The chief guest for the programme was Dr Poonam Ashis, General Manager, Surya Herbal Ltd. Noida.

The other dignitaries who shared the moments with the chief guest were: Dr Avijit Mazumder (Director, Pharmacy), Dr Pandey B.B. Lal (Director General, NIET), Dr P. Pachauri (Dean P & P) and Dr Rupa Mazumder (Dean R & D). The seminar started with the welcome speech of Dr. Avijit Mazumder where he narrated the significance of Pharmacists can nurturtheir skills to improve the job potentiality.

National Pharmacy Week is being celebrated every year during the third week of November. The major focus of NPW celebrations is to create awareness amongst the public, other healthcare providers and the authorities, about the NPW theme in specific and about the pharmacy profession and role of pharmacist in general.

On this occasion a MoU was also signed between NIET and Surya Herbals Ltd for collaborative research and training & placement. Dr P. Pachauri emphasized the role of pharmacist as future entrepreneurs.

Various inter college competitions like quiz, poster making, rangoli, mehendi, music and dance were conducted at NIET to celebrate NPW. The dignitaries present in the Seminar distributed the prizes to the winners of competitions.

Event came to an end by vote of thanks delivered by Dr Rupa Mazumder.
