CAT Application Form 2022 - The last date to register for CAT 2022 exam has been extended by 5 days. CAT aspirants can now submit the application form of CAT 2022 till September 25, 2022 (05.00 pm). Since last three years, the CAT registration deadline is being getting extended for 5 days and as per the stats, the CAT registration count has been the highest in this extended duration. The CAT application form date extension has lead to breaking of registration count previously and the same may happen this year too. With IIMs rigorously refining their selection criteria every year, the count of CAT application form 2022 submission and exam takers is expected to set a new record. Last year, 2,32,434 CAT applications were received compared to 2,18,664 in the year 2015. CAT application form 2022 is available only in online mode. The application fee to apply for the exam is INR 1800 for General/non-OBC category candidates while it is INR 900 for SC/ST/PWD category candidates.

IIM Lucknow will be conducting Common Admission Test 2022 on November 26, 2022. This computer based management entrance test will be conducted across 140 cities of the nation in two sessions, forenoon and afternoon. To begin with the CAT application process, the candidates will have to create their student login by filling some basic details in CAT 2022 registration form. Only after this registration, the candidates will be able to access the CAT application form 2022. In the form, the applicants will have to fill their details such as personal, education history, exam cities, contact, category, program, work experience etc. Also, upload photograph, signature and category reservation certificates, if required.

• Details in the application form must be filled carefully. These should be valid and correct.
• In case opportunity to make changes in the submitted CAT 2022 application form will be provided like last year, it will be for limited fields only.
• Duration for completing CAT 2022 application process in one go is 30 minutes only. Failing which, the candidates will have to re-login.
• Fields marked with “*” (asterisk) must mandatorily be filled by the candidates.

As per the CAT 2022 eligibility criteria, following candidates will be considered eligible to appear for the exam -

• Candidates who have completed graduation in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks. However, it is 45% in case of reserved category candidates.
• Bachelors degree should have been obtained from a recognized College/University.
• Candidates with professional degrees such as CA, CS, ICWAI and other equivalent education as per the CAT 2022 eligibility criteria can apply for this entrance test. 
• Students waiting for the result or exams of the final year of Bachelor’s degree are also eligible for CAT.

How to access and fill CAT Application Form 2022?

There are major 3 steps involved in online CAT 2022 registration, which are as follow –

Step 1 – Register to receive the User ID & Password

At step 1, the candidates will have to fill the following details –

• Name
• Date of Birth
• Email Address 
• Mobile Number

After entering the above-mentioned details, rewrite the image as shown in the “Captcha box” and click on “I Agree” in the declaration section. Submit these details then and within few minutes, you’ll receive your respective CAT 2022 login details via SMS and email. 

Step 2 – Login at CAT 2022 official website to access application form

Now that the candidates have their login details with them, they must login at the website as an “Existing User” for accessing and filling the CAT application form.

Step 3 – CAT 2022 Form Filling

On successful login, the candidates will be able to access the application form of CAT 2022. Here, the candidates will be required to fill details in 5 sections, which are as follow –

• Personal Details
• Academics
• 4 Exam Cities in order of preference
• Work Experience
• Details of Programmes you wish to study at IIMs
• Payment of application fee

The candidates are advised to recheck the details filled in the form before submitting. Trends of CAT Registration

Last year, a total of 2,32,434 CAT aspirants registered for the test, out of which 67% were male and 33% were females. This registration number was the highest in preceding 7 years. Every year, 60 – 70% of the CAT applications are received by engineers yearning to study at IIMs. However, the past few year’s statistics reveal that non-engineers are also now being drawn towards CAT and IIMs are refining their selection norms in order to have a balance of engineers and non-engineers in the classrooms.

CAT Application Form Correction 2022

Last year, for the first time, the CAT applicants were given the opportunity to modify certain details in the submitted application form. The table below provides the details of field, in which modification was allowed and not allowed. The application correction window remained accessible for 5 days, from October 1 to 5, 2022.

It is expected that IIMs may provide application correction window this year too in the month of October 2022. However, knowing that changes will be allowed in certain fields, the candidates are advised to fill CAT application form 2022 correctly.
