Career Prospects of a Teacher

The profession may not be the most lucrative one but it is certainly very gratifying. Teachers, especially those who teach at the primary level have a moral responsibility towards the students as it is an age when the children are the most impressionable. They also have to be innovative with the methods of imparting knowledge to the children. The curriculum might change periodically, hence teachers are also always in the learning mode.

Teaching has become more enjoyable these days as it is not being restricted to classrooms only. More and more schools are encouraging field trips, educational outings, workshops, class vacations etc to avoid making the process of learning monotonous and to cultivate all the faculties of a child. A teacher now is no longer just an instructor but is slowly assuming the role of a guiding mentor.

Teachers at the entry level earn between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 per month. At the mid-level one earns over and above Rs 20,000. The salaries vary according to the grade you teach and the school.
