In layman language, computer hardware refers to the grouping of various physical parts of a computer, while networking is about linking several computers to allow sharing of information and data. Institutes that conduct courses in computer hardware teaches modules on how to assemble computers and make them efficient in usage. Whereas networking courses, teach how to connect various computers to share information. To become a successful hardware and networking professional, one should be proficient in skills like working of networks, data flows and information/data security. There are many government and private institutions that offer qualifications in hardware and networking from certificate to master’s level. Good institutions conduct entrance exams for admission to B.Tech or M.Tech courses.

Depending upon the technical experience, a person can hold position of a networking professional, system integrator, PC technician, PC assembler, peripheral engineer, technical support executive, computer chip designer, computer manufacturer, electronic data processing managers, system engineerand system administrator. With experience and hard work, one can reach the top most level of a director and CEO in five to eight years. One can opt to be a teacher also. Besides, one can start one’s own consultancy to develop hardware and network computers according to the needs and demands of various clients.
