CA CPT 2017 Exam Pattern

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released the official notification that mentions the CA CPT 2017 exam pattern and CA CPT Dec 2022 exam date. The CA aspirants can go through the exam pattern for CPT 2022 to know every aspect of the respective exam.

The candidates filling CA CPT 2022 application form must have basic knowledge in fundamentals of accounting, mercantile law, general economics and quantitative aptitude. The candidates must be familiar with the aspects of the pattern of the test which will help them in prepare better and build their confidence.

CPT 2022 Exam Pattern:

The CPT (Common Proficiency Test) is an objective type examination of 4 hours duration divided into 2 sessions of 2 hours each. The total marks for the test are 200.

SESSION–I

The first session of CA CPT 2022 question paper will have two sections. Candidates will be allotted two hours to attempt this question paper consisting of 100 Marks

Section A: Fundamentals of Accounting (60 Marks)

Section B: Mercantile Laws (40 Marks)

SESSION–II

On the other hand, the second session of CA CPT Dec 2022 question paper will be same like the first, with a weight age of 100 marks. Candidates will be provided 2 hours to complete the exam. Here also there will be two section but with different seggregation.

Section C: General Economics (50 Marks)

Section D: Quantitative Aptitude (50 Marks)

There are multiple choice questions in the exam. Also, there is a provision for negative marking for the incorrect answers. To clear the CPT, a student has to obtain a total of 50% marks in all the papers together.

The admission requirements for the second level of the course i.e. PCC (Professional Competency Course) is to qualify in the CPT. This level is thus the entry level for all the aspiring CA practitioners.

It is essential for all the candidates to first go through CA CPT 2022 exam pattern and syllabus carefully and then make the preparation plan. Without having an understanding of the syllabus and pattern, students will end up wasting time on less important topics and subjects.
