Engineering admissions in Meghalaya 2022: Meghalaya is a small hilly state situated in the north - eastern region of India. Although Meghalaya state government is trying to establish more technical institutes in the state, but the amount of good engineering colleges in Meghalaya is still too low. Since there are very few engineering colleges offering B.Tech Admissions in Meghalaya, local students from Meghalaya often migrate to other parts of the country to get proper technical education.

Admission to UG course in engineering in Meghalaya based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains scores. JEE Mains is an all India level entrance exam which is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the month of April every year. This is among the most prominent entrance exam which is required to take admission to the undergraduate courses in engineering like B.E/ B.Tech in the esteemed IITs, NITs, IIITs, deemed universities and other centrally funded technical institutions.

Besides the fact that the number of engineering colleges in Meghalaya is too low, the state has some very good engineering colleges offering B.Tech admissions in Meghalaya. Some of the eminent engineering institutes are National Institute of Technology (NIT), Meghalaya, North Eastern Hill University, Regional Institute of Science and Technology, Meghalaya Institute Science and Technology and University of Technology and Management (UTM), Shilong etc.
