With just 11 days to go for the board examinations, students are a nervous lot -their biggest worry being their vast syllabus.

“There is just too much to learn. After a while, every formula and every derivation looks like the previous one I learnt,“ said Shivam Mahajan, a Class 12 student at Delhi Public School, Dwarka.
Last-minute preparations have students on their toes with most of them becoming nervous wrecks.
Experts, however, warn against last-minute jitters and provide guidance for some free time for the final few days.

“At some level, cramming is required in every subject. The students should have finished revision at least once by now.

Most of them should create bullet points and keep revising them. If a student remembers these, it will be easy to elaborate during the examinations,“ said LV Sehgal, principal of Bal Bharati School, Ganga Ram Hospital Marg.

Not starting new topics at this stage is also an important tip that most experts are giving students at this point.

“In every subject there will be topics that you know very well and some that you don't understand at all. At this stage it is best to master the things that you know so that you score full marks there.

“Starting topics that you don't understand at all will be counterproductive at this time,“ said RK Sharma, principal of Ahlcon Public School, Mayur Vihar. The one thing all teachers lay emphasis on is adequate sleep.

“It is imperative to get at least five to six hours of sleep so that you remember what you have learnt the previous night. There is a danger of going blank if the mind is not rested,“ said Mohini Bindra, principal of Ramjas School, Pusa Road.
