Biokumbh 2016: Registrations open for a national conference at Allahabad University

Centre of Biotechnology, University of Allahabad, is welcoming research scholars, academicians and students to participate in a National Conference on Recent Trends and Advances in Biotechnology, which will be held on February 20 and 21, 2022.

 

Entitled as Biokumbh 2022, the conference will set up a vibrant stage for researchers, academicians, scientists, enabling them to share their original findings and applied development familiarities, on the new challenges related to biotechnology. Here they will get the exposure to present their work in front of eminent experts.

Initiated in the year 2000 under Institute of Inter Disciplinary Studies (IIDS) of Allahabad University, the Centre of Biotechnology is supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, New Delhi. At present, the centre offers Masters programme (4 semesters) in Biotechnology as well as D. Phil. programme.

 

An all India level exam - India Combined Entrance Examination, is being conducted every year to admit students in the Master programme. For D. Phil. Programme, the university holds a Combined Research Entrance Test (CRET) twice a year and also provides scholarship to the best students.

 

The centre is well equipped with modern amenities like a laboratory dedicated for Master Students, and specific research laboratories for Cynobacterial research, Mashroom biotechnology, Protein folding and translational research (Stem cells biology, bacterial metagenomics and Nanotechnology). Talking about the other facilities, the centre holds access to computers, internet facility, well-furnished air conditioned class rooms and online journals.
