Best of Four Percentage for DU Admission 2017

Best of Four is a major issue of concern for the DU aspirants. With 54,000 seats and more than 70 colleges, the race to DU has begun. DU admissions are on the peak. Till now approximately 1.25 lakh applications have been received for the Delhi University UG Admission 2022. The registration for UG courses has started from May 22, 2022, and will continue till June 12, 2022. Every year the cut-off of Delhi University touches the sky while leaving students confused about the calculation of aggregate marks on the basis of Best of Four in DU. So it is necessary to calculate your best of four scores to get admission into DU. Here are all the details to figure out your best of four marks:

Best of Four Marks in DU - Calculation Process

The best of four percentage will be based on the best 4 scores of the candidate in 10+2. DU will release the cut-off list for the admission. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the cut-off marks. There are various criteria for calculating the Best of Four which is explained below:

Best of Four Percentage for UG Courses in Arts 2022:

Best of four subjects in DU should include the following:

• One language (Core, Elective, Functional)
• The subject in which admission is sought
• Any two other academic subjects

Best of Four in DU - List of subjects that must be treated as academic/elective subject:

Best of Four in DU Calculation Notes:

• If an aspirant has studied both elective and core in any language(s), core language will be treated as language whereas elective language can be considered as an academic subject.
• If the subject in which admission is being sought is not included in the Best Of Four DU scores,  a disadvantage of 2.5% may be imposed on the Best of Four percentage.¬¬
• If any one of the above-listed subjects is not included in the best of four percentage, the candidate will be entitled to a disadvantage of 2.5%.
• If a candidate has studied three academic/elective subjects but wishes to include the percentage of the non-elective subject(s), a disadvantage of 10% of the maximum marks may be imposed on each such non-academic subject(s).
• If a candidate has not studied three academic/elective subjects, a disadvantage of 10% of the maximum marks may be imposed on each such non-academic subject(s).
• Accountancy will be considered equivalent to commerce where commerce is not offered as the subject to the candidate.
• Music will be considered as an academic/elective subject for honours in music only.
• Physical Education will be treated as an academic/elective subject only for honours in physical education.

Best of Four Calculation for admission in any language course 2022:j

• If you have studied the elective language for the particular course in which the admission is sought, you may have an advantage of 2%.
• If the candidate has not studied the language in which the admission is sought then disadvantage of 5% will be imposed on the best of four percentage of the candidate.
• If the candidate is seeking admission in Hindi or English honours, the candidate must have studied and passed the respective subject and will have to include these in Best of Four DU percentage.

Best of Four Percentage for B.A and B.Com 2022:

• One language( Elective/Academic/Functional)
• Any three elective subjects.

*If the candidate is applying in any different stream then the candidate will be entitled to a disadvantage of 5%.

• If a candidate opts for MIL (except Hindi) as a subject, an advantage of 10% may be given in Best of Four in those colleges where MIL is offered as a subject.
• The candidates must have studied mathematics at the qualifying exam for admission in Economics(Hons.).

Note: For the admission in B.A.(Hons.) Hindi Patrkarita and B.A.(Hons.) Journalism and B.A.(Hons.) Applied Psychology, the candidate has to follow the guidelines for B.A.( Hons.) Hindi and B.A.(Hons.) English and B.A.(Hons.) Psychology respectively.

• For B.Com. course, Best of Four in DU should include one language, commerce (or Accountancy, if commerce is not offered as the subject e.g. in CBSE board.) and any two academic/elective subjects given in the above-mentioned list.
• It is mandatory to study and pass Maths in the qualifying exam in order to qualify for admission in B.Com.

Best of Four Percentage in DU for Science 2022:

• There is no change in the selection process of  Mathematical Sciences/Science courses.
• Subjects to be included for Selection: (PCM/PCB/PCMB)
• All the subjects must have at least 70% component of theory exams in the qualifying exam or else disadvantage of 10% of the maximum marks may be imposed on each subject.
• For admission to B.Sc.Home Science, the aggregate of English and three other academic subjects is included.
• For admission to B.Sc.(Hons.) Home Science, the candidate must have scored at least 50% marks as an aggregate of any three of the following subjects: Physics/Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology/ and other subjects mentioned in the list above.
• For admission in B.Sc. (Hons) Biomedical Science, the candidate must have scored at least 55% marks as an aggregate of any three of the following subjects: Physics/Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and at least 50% marks in English.

Note:

• Candidates having mathematics with at least 60% marks will be given the advantage of 3% over PCB/Bt aggregate.
• Theory exam does not include internal assessment/continuous evaluation etc.
