Assam Joint Admission Test (JAT) 2012

Conducting body: Director of Technical Education, Assam conducts Assam Joint Admission Test (Assam JAT) for the first year of Under Graduate Professional courses.

Students for all the Engineering Colleges, Medical Colleges, Regional Dental College and Ayurvedic College of the State of Assam and NIT (Assam state quota) are selected through JAT Assam.

Every year the time and venue of the entrance is notified by the Director of Technical Education in Assam Gazette and other newspapers as well.

Duration of the Assam JAT 2012: 3 hours

Eligibility Criteria for Assam JAT 2012: 

1) The candidate should be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of Assam.

2) The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council or its equivalent, in which the subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics have been cleared in the same sitting.

3) The candidate should have passed the qualifying Examination securing at least 50% & (45% in case of SC and 40% in case of ST) marks in the aggregate of the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the same sitting.

4) The candidate must appear in the Assam Joint Admission Test conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam and be selected for admission.

5.) The candidate must not be above 21 years or below 17 years of age on the 1st of August of the year in which the candidate seeks admission. Upper age limit mentioned in (5) above are relaxed to 22 years in case of B.Sc. passed Candidates. Upper age limit mentioned in (5) above are relaxed by 3 years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Candidates.

6) A candidate must not be under weight or over weight. The height and weight should be as per insurance chart for height, weight and age relation.

7) SC/ST candidates are granted relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit.

Exam PAttern for Assam JAT 2012: 

• Mathematics - 100 Marks, 3 hours
• Physics - 100 Marks, 3 hours
• Chemistry - 100 Marks, 3 hours
• Biology- 100 Marks, 3 hours

Validity of the Score: Until the admission process is over
