Apeejay Stya University opens its door for the new students

It's admission season and youngsters from various corners of the country are streaming in, at the lush green campus of Apeejay Stya University(ASU). Being India's first liberal arts university , it has attracted numerous students from various foreign lands also like African countries, Mauritius,Russia, Afghanistan, UAE, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal.

 

Since 2010, this university has made a strong effort to become one of the best international universities of repute. Thus , unlike most of the Indian universities , it offers internationally prevelant credit based system. Being a part of the liberal arts university, the students have the freedom for choosing various subjects according to their will , like a student of B.Tech can do his Minors in Design/Journalism or any other stream.

 

Inspite of so many differences, the admission procedure is quiet simple and similar to those of other Indian Universities.Rahul Sahdev, the head of the Admission team confirmed," Students need to fill up the admission form. Cut off marks for eligible students is 50% in their 12th board examination. Then, they have to appear for an online test.Depending on the result, they are called for the campus interview. After he/she gets selected , they get their admission letter."

 

The university offers programmes like undergraduation, post graduation and Ph.D in various streams . Various departments include i)School of Journalism and Mass Communication, ii)School of Design and Visual Arts iii) School of Engineering and Technology iv)School of Biosciences v)School of Management Sciences vi)School of Pharmaceutical Sciences vii) School of Education viii) School of Legal Studies

 

As it welcomes students from various countries, it has always promoted diversity and encouraged sharing of knowledge , experience and culture .

 

Dr. Stya Paul, the founder of Apeejay Education Society, believed that industry could provide quality education and thus contribute towards nation building. So, ASU became the seat of global learning that could bring transformations in society, by blending technology with liberal arts.
