Anti ragging help desk at UPTU

Ragging is a topic that always bothers the students transitioning from school to college. Many students hesitate to go to college in the starting days due to the fear of their seniors. It affects the students both mentally and physically. Even parents get worried when they listen to ragging cases taking place in various colleges in India.

Seniors go out of their limits just to have the pleasure of 5-10 mins. But these 5-10 mins can force a fresher to even commit suicide or end up their precious life. Ragging or simply harassment includes any such activity which questions your dignity. Once you compromise with your self-respect, seniors won’t leave you. They may target you again and again.

Management must play a pivotal role in amending strict anti-ragging policies so that freshers don't hesitate in complaining about such activities. Immediate action is required on such issues. Keeping the adverse effects of ragging in mind, Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) has given the responsibility to the following people as mentioned in the file attached below.

Fresehrs are also requested to protest against any kind of activities which leads to physical or mental harassment. It is their duty to complain to the college authority before situation becomes worst. Even if you come across such activities taking place with some other student, you all must unite and fight for your right.

Seniors must try to make the environment more fun-loving and exciting for their juniors who have just entered in a new phase of their life instead of making it hell for them.
