Anna University to Now Add Mobile Application to its Wide Curriculum of 2013!

Anna University is a technical university in Tamil Nadu, formed in 1978 by the Tamil Nadu Government. It became an affiliating university in 2001, absorbing about 250 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. Between 2007 and 2010 it was split into six universities, namely, Anna University, Chennai, Anna University of Technology, Chennai, Anna University of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore, Anna University of Technology Tirunelveli and Anna University of Technology, Madurai.
 

Giving a new turn to its curriculum, Anna University has decided to add Mobile Applications to the schedule. This curriculum is meant for first year students in affiliated colleges and has been revamped after 4 years.
 

This new curriculum, has introduced modules on multi core architecture, grid, nano computing, game programming and cloud computing, as well. The latest curriculum - R2013- will “ready the students for the current scenario as they study practical components” the university states.
 

Growing weary of hearing about the unsatisfactory communication skills of students of the university, several segments in technical English has also been introduced this year. This step will bring the students closer to better and improved opportunities for employability.
 

The new schedule involves tips on how to make small talk inquiring about the weather via SMS and various emoticons in emails, blogging and resume, if need be. "This will be very useful to current students, as it will help them to be less stiff and formal during interactions with even superiors. Many of us learnt it the hard way after we passed out when we were rebuffed by seniors and cooler people in the workplace," said a graduate from a city engineering college two years ago.
