Aligarh Muslim University Exams Have Been Postponed

The proposal was put forward in a meeting of Deans of Faculties and Principals of Colleges presided over by Prof. P.K. Abdul Azis, Vice Chancellor of the University.

Prof. V.K. Abdul Jaleel, AMU Resgistrar said that the varsity has taken this decision due to AMU Students Union election process.

He informed that the examination scheduled for the said period will be rescheduled from December 14, 2011 onwards in all the faculties

AMU spokesperson Zeeshan Ahmad said that as the dates of examinations were clashing with the election schedule, a number of students had demanded that the university postpone either the examinations or the polls. 

Since then, student leaders have been demanding elections on the campus. Some of them had staged a dharna at the vice-chancellor’s residence.
