AIMA is launching two skill based courses from July 2013. Post Graduate programme in Retail Management and Sales & Marketing. Both the courses have been designed after in-depth research on skill requirements in the industry and emerging employability demands. Both the courses in Retail Management and Sales and Marketing are for a year's duration. This course will help aspirants to keep up with the expansion of e-retailing.
These courses are designed to meet the present and future needs of the industry. AIMA wants to leverage the knowledge base of its members to design and run the courses vetted by industry professionals and tuned to meet their requirement. At the same time this opens up job opportunities for graduating students in companies endorsing the programme. These courses are targeted to the fresh graduates who intend to build a career in sales & marketing and retail, also for the junior staff in existing companies who feel that their career growth is getting hampered because of lack of specific conceptual knowledge and a professional certificate.
These one year programmes are highly focused to develop competencies in niche areas. These programmes are very intense and specialised and aim to build career in a fast tract mode.
The 1 year retail Management MBA programme by AIMA will target overall growth in operations, selling, customer relations, communication design, software application, data management & analytics, decision making and people-management.
Practical programme is also an important part of this course with live projects, role plays, case-study based teaching, simulation exercises, mentoring and coaching by industry experts as part of the curriculum.
The retail sector contributes 8-10 % to India's GDP while the systemized retail industry offers direct employment to about 300,000 people. India, as of now has over 3500 educational institutions offering skill bases courses in the field of management. The courses range from one-year certificate course to two-year post graduate diploma or masters of management.
