The AWT 2012 is the common admission test of CMC (Christian Medical College), Ludhiana for post graduate diploma & degree courses & it will be held on 24th Feb 2012 at 3 centres in India: Kochi, New Delhi & Ludhiana.





About AWT 2012

The total marks for the admission written test is 300 marks. There are 2 parts in the test. Part A is General while Part B will test your Specialty.

Part A:GENERAL   Maximum Marks: 200  Time: 10am-1pm
There will be 200 multiple-choice questions from the MBBS syllabus, carrying 1 mark each. There will be no negative marking.

Part B:SPECIALTY Maximum Marks: 50    Time: 2pm-4pm
Depending on what you opted for in your application forms, you can choose to give either one, two or all three tests (streams listed below). Each test in Part B has 50 multiple-choice questions of 1 mark each & each test will last for 40 minutes. There will be no negative marking. 
       I.Surgical Specialties: Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology
      II.Medical Specialties: Medicine, Paediatrics, Anaesthesia, Radio-diagnosis, Radiotherapy
     III.Basic Sciences Specialties: Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology

You should secure at least 50% (i.e.125/250) in the written exam (i.e. Part A + Part B) to be eligible in the merit list of the respective stream.
Merit List 1- General Paper+Specialty Paper 1
Merit List 2- General Paper+Specialty Paper 2
Merit List 3- General Paper+Specialty Paper 3

It is mandatory to give Part A & at least one stream in Part B to be considered in the merit list. The merit lists will be declared on 29th Feb 2012 here.

Part C: ADDITIONAL MARKS  Maximum Marks: 50
If you have worked in the following hospitals, you will be given extra marks:

1.Graduation & Internship from CMC Ludhiana with fulfillment of service coomitment if any: 5 marks
2.Candidates who have passed PG Diploma before 24th Mar 2012 from an institution recognised by MCI: 5 marks
3.Satisfactory completion of minimum 2 years of MBBS service obligation after MBBS for graduates of CMC Ludhiana
   or
  Completion of 2 years of service ina government Primary/Secondary Health centre located in a rural area, duly certified by the Village       Officer/Tehsildar & attested by the District Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon as applicable:  20 marks (for 2 years)
4.Satisfactory completion of work in: Any hospital managed by a member of the CMC Ludhiana Society or CMC Ludhiana, not part of service obligation. 5 marks for every completed 6 months up to a maximum of 20 marks: 20 marks (for 2 years)
