Summer Research Fellowships in Jawaharlal Nehru Centre: Admission Notification

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is a multidisciplinary research institute funded by the Department of Science and Technology. The institute aims to promote world-class research and training in science and engineering covering broad areas ranging from materials to genetics.  

JNCASR invites applications for admission to its Summer Research Fellowships for following research areas:

• Life Science
• Materials Sciences
• Chemical Sciences
• Physical Sciences
• Engineering Sciences 
• Atmospheric Sciences

Eligibility

You should have:

• Secured not less than 80% in Maths and Science subjects in Class X and XII or equivalent examinations and not less than first class in graduation and post graduation (if applicable).
• If you are presently studying in I & II year of B.Sc., I, II & III year of B.E/ B.Tech., I year of M.Sc and I - IV year of Integrated M.Sc., you can apply for Life Sciences and Mathematics. 
• If you are presently studying in II year of B.Sc., II & III year of B.E/ B.Tech., I year of M.Sc and II – IV year of Integrated M.Sc., you are eligible to apply for Materials Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Atmospheric Sciences.

The students selected under this programme are placed with scientists at the Centre or elsewhere in India, for 2 months with a stipend of Rs. 6000 /- p.m and travel support as per Govt. of India norms.

• You can also obtain form by writing to the address mentioned below with a self-addressed envelope of 16x25 cms with stamp of Rs. 10/-

• You should write your “Area of Research” on the left hand top corner of the mailing envelope.
• You must attach two confidential reports sealed by the referee and with the referees’ signatures across the seals.
• You should also attach xerox copies of relevant mark sheets, etc.

Students who have already completed this programme earlier need not apply. Mere applying to this programme does not warrant selection.
