Admission Notification: IIT-Kharagpur, Admission Open for Ph.D Programme 2012-2013

IIT Kharagpur or IIT KGP is an autonomous engineering and technology-oriented institute established by the Government of India. The Parliament of India passed an act known as the Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur), Act declaring this Institute as an Institute of national importance.

Courses Offered: Ph.D programme Engineering & Technology, Science, Architecture & Regional Planning, Humanities & Social Sciences, Law and Management Post Doctoral Fellowship.

Application Procedure to IIT Kharagpur Ph. D Programme

Please do not use any special character like: single quote (') while filling up the form

STEP-I:

• Make Payment in order to fill in the online application, payment of application fee has to be made before hand. The payments are made through Demand Draft only.
• Demand drafts of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250 for SC/ST category) should be made in favor of "IIT Kharagpur" on any nationalized bank payable at Kharagpur.
• Women candidates are exempted from the payment of application fees.

STEP-II: 

• Fill in the ONLINE application form Register with Your Email Id and Login. 
• FILL in the appropriate data.
• You will have to FILL inthe payment details also (Except women candidates). Therefore, it is essential that before you fill in the online application form make sure that you have the Demand Draft as mentioned above.
• You must enter the Demand Draft number and the Bank name for the payment details.
• You have to upload your digital photograph and signature.
• Please make sure that you have your passport size digital photograph and digital image of your signature ready before submitting online.

STEP-III:

• PRINT the online application form after freezing the online application, you will be able to generate a PDF document of the online application with your specific details/data. For this your computer must have Adobe Acrobat Reader.
•  From the onscreen view of the PDF document that your browser projects, you must PRINT the generated PDF online application form.

STEP-IV: POST Place the Demand Draft, printed online application form with supporting documents in an envelope and send it to Assistant Registrar (PGS&R), Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur Kharagpur- 721302, West Bengal.
