Admission Notification: Indian Navy

Contrary to popular belief, being in the Defence services does not always mean that you will be at the front protecting the nation from intruders. There are various other positions across sectors within the Armed Forces, Navy and Air Force. Here, we will discuss about such openings in the Indian Navy. There are two naval academies in India - Indian Naval Academy – Ezhimala and INS - Chilka.

Courses

Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates, who meet the nationality criteria as laid down by the Government of India for grant of Permanent Commission in the following Cadre/ Branch of the Indian Navy, for course commencing on June 2012, at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala.

• Naval Armament Inspection Cadre of Executive Branch (NAIC)
• Education Branch

• Education: 21 - 25 yrs. - Born Between: 02 JuL 1987 - 01 Jul 1991

• B.Tech/ BE (any discipline)
• Graduate Degree with Post Graduate Diploma/ Degree in Materials Management

• Chartered Accountancy

For Works

• B. Tech Civil Engineering
• B. Architecture

Minimum Percentage: 60%

For NAIC

• BE/B. Tech in Electrical/Electronics/ Mechanical
• Post Graduate Degree in Electronics / Physics

Minimum Percentage: 60%

For Education

• M. Sc Physics (with Maths in BSc)
• MSc Maths (with Physics in BSc)
• MCA
• MSc Operational Research/Analysis)
• MSc Meteorology/ Oceanography, Atmospheric Sciences)
• MA (English, History)

Minimum Percentage: 50% OR

• BE/B Tech/M Tech (Mechanical)
• BE/BTech/M Tech (Computer Science Engg./IT)
• M Tech (Meteorology/Oceanography, Atmospheric Sciences)

Minimum Percentage: 60%

Physical Standards

• Height and Weight: Minimum height 157 cms with correlated weight
• Eye Sight: 6/60, 6/60 correctable to 6/6, 6/12 with glasses and should not be colour / night blind

Online applications (e-application) for this entry are invited from students from 03 Oct, 2011. The online application registration will close on 28 Oct, 2011.
