44th Convocation of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi conducted its 44th convocation. It was the Annual Convocation of the Institute, in which students were given Degree/Diploma, held on November 9, 2013 (Saturday).

The Hon'ble President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee was the Chief Guest.

Students who were unable to received the degree on convocation day hereby informed that the degree in absentia is been issued from November 12 onwards, to the authorized name of the person given by the student.

Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi is one of the pioneer institutions in terms of providing technical education.

IIT Delhi is located in Hauz Khas, South Delhi. The campus of 325 acres is surrounded by the beautiful Hauz Khas area and monuments such as the Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple. The campus is also close to other educational institutions such as the Jawaharlal Nehru University, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, National Institute of Fashion Technology, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and Indian Statistical Institute.

IIT, Delhi offers following courses with its 13 different departments:

• Civil Engineering

• Computer Science and Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Electrical Engineering (Power)

• Engineering Physics

• Mechanical Engineering

• Production and Industrial Engineering

• Textile Technology

 Undergraduate-cum-postgraduate dual programs

Dual degree B. Tech-cum-M. Tech program offered in following areas:

• Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology

• Chemical Engineering

• Computer Science and Engineering, and

• Electrical Engineering

• Mathematics and Computing (Integrated M. Tech)

The admission to these programs is done through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) which is organized by all the seven Indian Institutes of Technology jointly. Lakhs of students take this exam every year with only few thousands of them actually crossing the bridge.
