3,800 Applicants Register Online for IIT-JEE on Day 1

The race to make it to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) has begun.The competition has just begun.

The entrance exam which will be held on April 8th 2012, will have two methods of registration, online method and physical applications.

Registrations for the JEE will be open till December 10th for all students. There are about 7,000 seats in 15 IIT's  up from grab this year.

So far, 3,800 students have completed their application process on the first day while others have registered.

In 2011, 4,85,000 took the joint entrance exam. This year onwards students will have to answer the test on an OMR sheet using pen. The answer keys will be put on the website three weeks after the exam has taken place. 

Students of the OBC category will be provided 10% relaxationin the minimum marks required as per Supreme Court order, A seperate rank list will also be brought out for OBC candidates.
