11th Convocation of University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES)

On his visit to Dehradun, President of India Mr. Pranab Mukharjee had marked his presence on the auspicious occasion of their 11th convocation of University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES).

Convocation was organized on August 26, 2013. President was welcomed at the airport by The Governor and CM of the State. After reaching the campus honorable President awarded the students who were given convocation. It was their pride and great achievement to be awarded medals from the Presidents in their convocation.

In his addressing note Presidents said that UPES as a specialized University has a crucial role generate state of the art knowledge to fulfill the needs of energy sector. He said that challenged faced by us today is to achieve a high growth rate while meeting with the energy needs of the growing population.

He also emphasized on students efforts to design a Multi Fuel Cooking Stove which has been granted a patent.

The event was concluded by extending vote of thanks to the President,guests and speakers.
