Class 10th and 12th board examinations begin across the country on Monday the 28th of February in which over 14.5 lakh students are expected to appear. Class 12th exams will end on 2nd April while class 10th board exams will end on March 30th. The secondary examinations will be held at 2,714 centres and class 12th at 2,506 centres.
A total of 14,62,016 students will take part in the examinations this year, which is 1,46,985 more than the last year. Last year, 13,15,031 students took the examinations, a statement from the Central Board for Secondary Examination said. About 8,24,438 students, 4,87,475 boys and 3,36,963 girls, would take the class 10th examinations while 6,37,578, 3,73,330 boys and 2,64,248 girls, would appear for class 12th exams.
A total of 2,31,651 students have registered for class 10th examination in Delhi at 568 centres, while 1,81,393 have enrolled for class 12th at 555 centres. CBSE has made special provisions for visually impaired students, who can write their examinations at 14 centres, including two foreign ones. Visually impaired students will be allowed to use an amanuensis (one who write the examination for them), who could be a student of a class lower than the one for which the candidate is taking the examination.
