Former President APJ Abdul Kalam, popularly known as the Missile Man of India, passed away on Monday evening. He was 83.

Kalam, who served as the 11th President of India from July 2002 to July 2007, collapsed during a speech at the IIM Shillong and was rushed to the nearby Bethany Hospital where doctors declared that he died of cardiac arrest.
