Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay has collaborated with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard in order to commence Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
Using Information and Communication Technologies, IIT Bombay has developed and deployed training programs, engaging thousands of participants at a time, through national mission projects sponsored by MHRD.
IITs programs are aimed at understanding up the quality of education by the help of technology and solving scaling. IIT, in total has, 14 academic departments, 6 centres, 3 interdisciplinary programmes and one school. Recognised all over the world for its world class education, it is reputed for quality of its faculty and exemplary performance of students.
