HTCampus Calling Conducted a 'Beyond DU' Counseling Session for Students and Parents on 23rd June 2013

This event took place in Army Public School in Sector-37, Noida. The event was a grand success with everyone, students and parents alike. Around 150 students from varied streams like Arts, Science, Medicine, Commerce – Management, Animation & Design and Mass Communication, attended the event. Being a ‘beyond’ DU event, all lot of students were 12th passed of the 2013 batch. 

 

 

 

Deans, professors, lecturers made up the panel of speakers for ‘Beyond DU’ event. The event initiated with an amusing yet informative story by Mr. Alok Jain, Co-Founder of CareerCo, which compelled the audience of parents and students to be think of one’s strengths and weaknesses. He conveyed to all, that one should never let go of their dreams and passion. 

 

After which, Prof. B.S Gill – Associate Director of Mechanical Engineering branch in Manav Rachna University took center stage. He spoke of engineering and how integral it is in our life, now and ever. He also spoke about the scope that surrounds engineering when chosen as a career. According to Prof B.S Gill, mechanical engineering is the mother of all engineering. He also, didn’t forget mentioning that there is no need to feel low on confidence after doing engineering as after this stream of education, you can enter to any field.

 

Then, Dr. Shobha Kulshretha – Dean of Asian School of Media Studies narrated a short story which made us realize the importance of knowing where you belong and what is it that we want. She urged us to have clear views of our goals and not hesitate to follow our dreams.

She also added, that media is much more than just journalism or advertisement or personal relations. Media is a versatile dimension and people need to understand that and know of ALL their options before deciding. 

 

Dr Anil Sarin, then took over the podium, Dean of Manav Rachna International University stressed on the factor of self assertion and self belief over any given management course. He also gave a lot of importance to the credibility quotient of a course affiliation or accreditation. He motivated the audience to believing in themselves being ‘the best’. 

 

From Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), the Assistant General Manager (AGM), Mr. Amit Dua was the last speaker to address the gathered crowd. He provided an insider’s view into the gripping field of animation & graphics. He emphasized on the point, how animation as taken over the market today. Everything from films, advertisements and even initiatives by IT and other companies are using modern animation techniques to create brand presence today.

 

After all the talking and making a lot of points, commenced the open question-answer forum, where the students were given the opportunity to ask the speaker their query.
