Greater Noida Institute of Technology organized national conference on April 2013

In collaboration with IDC Foundation, Sarvodaya Institute of Software and the Rising Corner, Greater Noida Institute of Technology organized a national level conference on role of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) in inclusive and sustainable development on April 27, 2013.

ICT is an enabling technology. Access to the internet and mobile networks can allow people to access banking, medical services, and markets. Mobile banking services can allow people to make fast transactions and secure small business loans. The 64 percent of our population is engaged in agriculture and application of ICT can play a big role in taking researches and technologies to rural areas and utilize them for capacity building and entrepreneurship development.

The Conference solicits papers reporting original ideas, new results or interesting applications, implementations and studies related to role of ICT in inclusive and sustainable national development. With the above background this national conference aims to take-up the following set of development goals with the aim to improve social and economic condition of the people.

• ICT for primary education and access to higher education through open source computing.

• ICT in governance, communication, financial inclusion and empowerment.

• ICT for Healthcare and for healthcare delivery and for reduction in child mortality rate.

• Increase in agricultural production, diversification and market access.

• Eradication of poverty and hunger through capacity building and entrepreneurship development.

The selected papers will be published in special issues of "Ekansh" (A National Journal with ISSN 2230-9756). The selected papers found suitable by the expert committee will be sent for publication in an International Journal also.

Prof. S.K.Kak, Vice Chancellor, MTU, Noida had invited as a Chief Guest for this event. Prof. A.K. Pandey was honoured as Conference Chairman of the event.
