ECA & Sports Quota Radar: Ramjas College

Ramjas College is a prestigious North Campus College of the University of Delhi (DU). Various Colleges are accepting forms for Extra Curricular Activities Quota and Sports Quota. Read about them here. Today, I talk of Ramjas – The Campus & the form filling experience.

The College is pretty good. The first thing that strikes you is the greenery. Being in the same block as Hindu and Stephens’, it has its share of prestige, as well as its own good reputation, which it has built over the years. It’s got a wide range of courses, and accepts a wide range of extra-curricular activities for the ECA quota.

When I entered the place, the people at the counter were winding up. But it was noteworthy that they still gave out and accepted forms at least 20 minutes post the scheduled closing time. Lack of signs, directions and volunteers made it a little confusing. There were applicants running everywhere, and one even tripped and crashed onto the ground, as a cloud of dust flew up. (I know, I’m evil for mentioning that.) Amid the bedlam, Harishankar, one of the many applicants said, “They’re making people a bit confused. We have certain doubts and queries that they are not answering… I tried calling them, but no one gave a response!”

But each individual had their own experience. The form itself is pretty standard. Attach self attested transcripts, stick the pic and you’re good to go. They provided a nice enough room to sit comfortably and fill in the form. If you get thirsty, you may walk up to the canteen and get a bottled Nimbupani or soft drink.

All in all, it’s a good college. It may give a rundown air at first, but don’t let it fool you - the campus is pretty big. And green. I know I keep saying that, but only in in a June afternoon do you realize the importance of greenery.
