Department of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Calicut is one of the first and oldest management institutes in South India to offer Management courses. It was established in 1972 and today, it is one of the largest teaching departments of the University on the main campus with about 110 post-graduate students and about 30 research scholars. The University aims to nurture excellence in education and research in its catchment areas of Northern Kerala, historically consigned to the periphery of Keralaβs academic map. With βNirmaya Karmana Sreeβ as it motto, the University has overcome challenges to emerge as the largest residential cum affiliating University in Kerala.Β The Department lays its emphasis on fostering quality human resource and promoting productive research that benefit both local communities and wider humanity.Β
