The University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology, UICTE (earlier known as Department of Chemical Engineering & Technology, DCET) was established in collaboration with I.I.T., Chicago in the present building of the University Campus.

Master of Technology in Food Technology	-	B.E./B.Tech.(Chemical) (04 years) or Five Year Integrated B.E.(Chem.)with MBA with a CGPA of 6.75 or at least 60% marks in the aggregate (where % marks are awarded) in the qualifying examination i.e. B.E./B.Tech. (chemical)(04 years) or Five Year Integrated B.E.(Chem.)with MBA or any other equivalent qualifying degree as approved by the Syndicate. Admission on the basis of Apptitude Test conducted by the Institute, or as decided by the Syndicate. GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from the Apptitude Test and in case of eligible GATE qualified candidates the merit list will be as per the Percentile obtained and shall be offered the seat at the first instance.	-

Placement

University has a dedicated training and placement cell to provide placement assistance to students. Panjab University is one of the first three highest impact factor Educational Institution of India, which aims at providing perfect ambience to budding professionals so as to enable them to carve a unique niche in their upcoming field. One of the best chemical institutes

UICET is one of the best colleges in terms of chemical engineering. Overall rating of this college is better than many IITs & NITs. Average placement of this collage is 5.5 L per year. More than 80% of the students of chemical branch get placed every year in reputed companies. Most of the professors pursued their studies from IISc, IITs, NITs, PU & foreign institutes. All of them well experienced and trained. They are helpful, innovative and approachable.
