Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) is a Private/Public University which was established in the year 1995. The University was formally known as Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Technological and Medical Sciences. This University focuses on the Research work(s) in the three domains of Science (mentioned above).

SMU is accredited by University Grants Commission (UGC). The University believes in Global Leadership in Human Development, and Excellence in Education and Health Care. Sikkim Manipal University Admission Process

Eligibility Criteria UG Admission

  1. Candidates aspiring to pursue any of the courses at the Under Graduate level from this University are required to have passed their 10+2 or its equivalent from any recognized Board/ University.
  2. The candidates are further required to have obtained the minimum percentage of marks as prescribed by the University to be eligible for admission to any of the Under Graduate courses. Such minimum marks shall also be calculated considering the subjects deemed to have been made necessary to be included for considering the eligibility.
  3. Admission will be on the basis of merit obtained in qualifying examination and/ or on the basis of a valid score as prescribed by the University in the Entrance Test held by the University for the particular course and/ or on the basis of a valid score in the relevant National Level Entrance Examinations which will vary according to the course.
  4. In all the courses in the technical campus of SMU, 5% relaxation of marks in the qualifying examination will be given to candidates belonging to the SC/ ST/ OBC Categories.

Sikkim Manipal University (SMU), established in the year 1995, is the first government- private initiative born with the objective of making the youth of Sikkim educated, skilled and employable.
