Junagadh Agriculture University Application Process

JAU has a different application process for UG and PG courses. Admission to UG courses is based on merit. Centralized online admission procedure is adopted by all the agricultural universities across Gujarat for all the UG programmes. Whereas, to take admission in PG courses the University conducts an internal entrance test.

Junagadh Agriculture University Admission Process

Aspirants who want to take admission to Junagadh Agriculture University must consider the points given below:

• The admission criteria in the Undergraduate programmes are purely based on merit basis, i.e. percentage of marks obtained in science subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics at HSCE with English as a compulsory subject in science or vocational stream.
• For taking admission to B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.F.Sc. & A.H.; Physics, Chemistry and Biology, while for B.Tech (Agri. Engg.), Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are compulsory subjects.
• A candidate seeking admission to Master’s degree must possess a Bachelor’s degree with an OGPA not less than 6.00 (10.00) or its equivalent as well as in the subject which the aspirant seeks admission in.
• Aspirants need to pass the entrance test conducted by the University for taking admission to PG courses
• Admission to PG courses is given on merit based on marks obtained in the entrance test
• The University published the merit list on their website.

Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU) PG Admission

JAU offers various courses at postgraduate level in the field of Agriculture. The university provides M.Sc. degree in Agriculture, M.Sc. Horticulture, and M.Tech degree in Agriculture Engineering, Master’s degree in Fisheries & Science (M.F.Sc.) and Master’s degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.).

All the courses are offered for a duration of two years. Furthermore, the University also offers a PG Diploma course in Agriculture IT for a duration of 18 months.

Admission to Masters’ will be based on the entrance test conducted by the university. To be eligible the candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with an OGPA not less than 6.00 (10.00 basis) or its equivalent in aggregate as well as in the subject he/she wants to pursue.  A merit list will be released thereafter.

Seats for ICAR and Govt. of India nominees, ST, SC, SEBC, Gujarat State nominees and in-service candidates are reserved as per university / ICAR rules. Candidates having degrees from basic science and outstate candidates are also admitted to vacant seats.

Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU) UG Admission

JAU offers various courses at Undergraduate level in the field of Agriculture. The university provides B.Sc. degree in Agriculture, B.Tech degree in Agriculture Engineering, Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries & Science (B.F.Sc.) and Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.).

B.Sc, B.Tech and B.F.Sc. courses are offered for duration of four years, while, B.V.Sc. & A.H. course is for duration of five years.

Admission to Bachelor’s courses is granted on the basis of merit.

Important points:

• Apart from the reservations mentioned above, additional 15% seats are reserved for ICAR candidates, who’ve cleared All India Entrance Examination conducted by ICAR.
• Weightage of 5% marks is given to farmer’s son/daughter and students for vocation stream who have passed HSCE with Agriculture subject in addition to Physics, Chemistry and Biology for admission to B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture.
• In B.F.Sc. degree course, 12%seats are reserved for Fisherman’s children and weightage of 15% marks in also given for admission. Weightage of 5% marks is given to farmer’s children.

Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU) located in Junagadh, Gujarat is public university established in 2004. The university provides undergraduate and postgraduate courses in different sub-fields of agriculture, such as Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry and Agriculture Business Management.
