Jamia Hamdard
Jamia Hamdard was inaugurated by Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi on August 1,1989. The Prime Minister praised the efforts of founder Hakeem Abdul Hameed in setting up institutions of learning which were emerging in the form of a โDeemed to-be Universityโ.ย
The university offers graduate programmes in modern medicine leading to the award of MBBS, Information Technology and Computer Applications and post-graduate programmes in Information Technology, Computer Applications, Business Management, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy have been started in the last few years. Undergraduate programmes in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy and Post Graduate Diploma in Preventive Cardiology are also planned for introduction.
The overall progress of the University has been evidently appreciable in terms of education, infrastructure good placements in India and abroad and high quality research projects. The courses offered by the University have expanded over the years.
The University facilities include a Central Library which was named as โHakim Mohammed Said Central Libraryโ after the younger brother of the founder. It also offers complete residential facilities to its teaching and non-teaching staff and students that are very well-equipped. Sports facilities include a gym, cricket field, badminton, tennis, and volleyball and basketball courts. There is also a mosque within the campus named โMasjid Rabiaโ.
Jamia Hamdard University Admission Process
Aspirants need to go through the eligibility criteria very carefully. It differs from programme to programme. If the candidate is eligible, he/she must apply to the course and give the entrance exam/ personal interview/ group discussion as prescribed. Selection criteria are different for every course. If the candidate fulfils all the conditions, he/she will be admitted by the university.

Jamia Hamdard University PG Admission
Jamia Hamdard University offers an array of courses under various specializations like Management, Medicine, Pharmacy, Humanities, etc. at postgraduate level. The minimum eligibility to get admission to PG courses is to have a Bachelorโs degree from a recognized institution with minimum 50% marks.
Admission to all the courses is made according to the candidateโs performance in entrance test and interview. The University also conducts its own entrance test.ย

The University offers an array of UG courses under various specializations in Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, Science, Humanities, Management, etc.ย Admission to all undergraduate programs offered by Jamia Hamdard will be made through merit in AIPMT/JEE (Main), wherever applicable, from amongst the applicants who have applied for admission in Jamia Hamdard. For other programs, university may select the candidates on the basis of marks secured in qualifying examinationโcum interview or conduct an entrance test.

Jamia Hamdard University (JHU) located in New Delhi is a government-funded deemed university.
