Gujarat University Admission: Points to Remember

•  At the time of registration, the university will circulate the news widely via prominent newspapers and official website. It’ll publish the date of registration, the list of help centers, last date of submission, programs offered, etc.
• Aspirants need to apply online for the registration on the official website within the specified time limit
• The aspirant is required to pay registration fee as specified the admission committee  for completing the registration
• If a candidate has made more than one registration, then the registration made at the later stage shall be taken into consideration for admission purpose and other entries will be terminated
• Reserved category candidates or other boards candidates are required to obtain the printout of the registration form and self-attest the same. Candidate needs to submit the form along with self-attested copies of the required certificates and testimonials as specified in the registration form at a help centre. Make sure that you receive the acknowledgement receipt authorized by the admission committee from the help centre. A new candidate from Gujarat Board is not required to do this process.

NOTE: No admission will be granted if the aspirant has not registered online

Gujarat University Admission Process

The admission procedure shall be off campus online in the following manner:

• The Admission Committee prepares merit lists of the eligible candidates who have applied after verification of the documents submitted. The merit lists are displayed on the website of the Admission Committee
• The Admission Committee publishes the schedule of online counselling program on its website, by advertisement in the prominent newspapers widely circulated in the university area
• The candidates are required to indicate minimum 15 his/her order of choices of colleges or institutions along with the subject groups online.
• Allotment of seats will be made on the basis of merit, category of the candidate and availability of seats. The allotment of seats shall be published on the website of the Committee.
• The candidates should take a print out of the Information letter and bank fee receipt from the website for future reference.
• For securing admission, the candidate needs to produce the allotment/information letter, receipt of fee, all the original documents and testimonials at the allotted college and institution for verification within the specified time limit.
• Such candidates will be eligible to participate in the successive rounds of counselling. In case, the candidate fails to produce the required documents within the prescribed time limit, his/ her admission offer will be terminated. 

Gujarat University Application Process

Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can visit the official website of Gujarat University (www.gujaratuniversity.ac.in) to apply for the course of their choice.

Open the candidate login screen by clicking on ‘GU Centralized Admission’ link. Follow the steps below to carry the admission process further:

•  A new candidate can register by clicking on the ‘registration’ link. It will redirect the candidate to User Information Page. Click ‘Next’.
• Enter the unique 14 character PIN Number provided by the University to enable the registration form. Note: The candidate has to collect the PIN number from respective colleges.
• The University will send a verification code to the candidate for confirming the mobile number and the PIN. He/she needs to enter the 4 digit code in the registration form to confirm the registration.
• Information that the candidate has entered cannot be changed after the confirmation of registration. Make sure to take a screenshot of the registration details for future reference. Click ‘Submit’.
•  A unique registration number will be generated for all the registered candidates.
• The candidate can access the application using the registration number, PIN number, PIN serial number and captcha codes. Once the candidate has logged in, the admission form will be displayed on the screen.
•  Open the admission form and provide all the details asked in the form related to the candidate’s education. If the candidate selects ‘SEBC’ category, he/she must provide ‘Non-Creamy Layer Certificate no.’ and ‘Issue date of Certification’.
• Candidates who are not from Gujarat University must provide ‘Provisional Eligibility Certificate’ from Gujarat University.
• If the candidate is applying for an undergraduate degree, then he/she must provide H.S.C details.
•  If the candidate who has passed HSC from CSHEB is applying for an undergraduate degree, then he/she doesn’t have to enter the details manually, the software will fetch the details automatically.
• The candidates who’ve passed graduation from Gujarat University and want to apply for postgraduate courses don’t have to enter their details manually; the software will fetch their details automatically.
•  At this step, the candidate needs to upload his/her passport size photograph and a scanned copy of the student’s signature in jpg format. The photograph’s size needs to be between 10kb to 50kb and signature needs to between 5kb to 30kb.
•  The candidate needs to opt for colleges according to his/her preference. He/she is required to indicate minimum 15 his/her order of choices of colleges or institutions along with the subject groups online. Allotment of seats shall be made on the basis of merit, the category of the candidate and availability of seats.
• Click ‘Submit’ button after rechecking the information
• After submission of the form, the candidates are advised to take a print out of the application form in A4 size page.

Gujarat University PG Courses Admission

Gujarat University offers various courses at postgraduate level such as M.Com, M.A., M.Ed., etc. To be eligible, the student must have a graduate degree in the relevant subject. The students have to pay the registration fee online while submitting the registration form.

The admissions to PG courses will be granted on the basis of the merit list regulated by the admission committee or by an entrance exam organized by the university. The percentage of marks obtained in the theory subjects would be the merit marks.

The eligibility and selection criteria for various courses have been given in the table:

Gujarat University PG Medical Courses Admission

Gujarat University offers various medical degrees at postgraduate level such as Master of Surgery, Master of Physiotherapy, etc. The basic eligibility to these courses is having a graduate degree in the relevant subject of Medical science. Candidates can get the application form from the college’s official website. The candidates have to pay the registration fee through online mode. The admission will take place on the basis of an entrance exam.

Gujarat University UG Admission

Gujarat University offers various courses at undergraduate level. To be eligible, the student must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. Aspirants can get application form from the official website. The student has to pay the registration fee online while submitting the form. If the candidate has made more than one registrations, the registration which is made later will be considered for the admission and the older registrations will be terminated. 

The admissions to UG courses will be granted on the basis of the merit list regulated by the admission committee. The percentage of marks obtained in the theory subjects would be the merit marks. If in case there are a few candidate having equal merit marks, the selection would be based on:

• Aggregate marks obtained in qualifying examination (Only external) (No practical Marks will be considered)
• English subject marks in qualifying examination. If English is not taught as a subject but English is a medium of instruction, percentage of marks obtained in the theory subjects
• Aggregate marks of SSC Examination or equivalent examination
• Date of Birth (Age)

Gujarat University Admission 2017

Gujarat University established in 1949, is a state university situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It is accredited B++ by NAAC. The university offers degree, diploma and certificate courses at Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) and Doctorate (PhD) levels. They offer courses in various streams such as Arts, Science, Law, Management, Mass Comm., etc. Aspirants can either take admission through merit or by taking the entrance exam. The admission process begins in the month of June with commencing of registrations for BA courses. The application process is online for UG and PG courses. Though, for Ph.D. courses, candidates have to take a printout of the application form. The application form for is available on university’s website. The students must thoroughly go through the eligibility criteria before filling the application form.

Gujarat University Admission Schedule

The admission process is regulated by ‘Gujarat University Admission Committee’. The committee is responsible to carry out the counselling and admission process in a fair and transparent manner. The functions of the Committee are as follows:

• The Committee shall supervise, monitor and control the entire process of admission to the candidates seeking admissions to the affiliated colleges or institutions.
• The Committee shall prepare the merit list in accordance with the provisions of the rules made there under.
• The Committee shall allocate the Government, Grant-in-Aid or Unaided Seats in accordance with the provisions of the rules made there under.
• The Committee shall ensure that admission in the Government, Grant-in-Aid or Unaided Seats is made as per the merit list prepared.
• The Committee shall perform such other functions as may be assigned to it by the Gujarat University.

Seat shall be reserved for the candidates who are of Gujarat origin and falling under the following categories:

• Scheduled Castes: 7%
• Scheduled Tribes: 15%
• Socially and Educationally Backward Classes: 27%

Note: A candidate seeking admission on reserved seat shall be required to produce a Certificate of Caste
