XIC Journalism and Mass Communication Review

I did my PG Diploma from XIC last year. It is a 10 months rigorous course. The classes are from 10 am to 8:30 pm sometimes. The course does not have any final exam so there are continuous projects. There are small sets of modules and each module may have about 2-3 projects. They are very particular about deadlines so do not try messing around with it. Course outline: If you have done your under graduation in Mass Media, you will feel some things are repeated but you will also come across a lot of new things. I can say 25% will be repeated but 75% will be new. There is a wide variety in subjects. New writing, Feature writing, Editorial writing, Digital writing, Public affairs, Learning software's and what not. All of those details can be found on website. But I will say that your writing and public speaking skills will improve a lot. Faculty: Best. Just the best. All the top media professionals who are or have been editors of some newspapers, magazines etc will be the faculty. Keep an open dialogue with them. They are extremely helpful and are great mentors. XIC also takes requests for guest lecturers so make the most of it. Around 10-15 guest lectures are slated every year. The class can add their own request. Placement: Their claim is true. 100% placement. Be patient and don't jump in to take the first job. The companies come one by one so don't be restless. Pro tip: Ask relevant questions to employer before final decision. Infrastructure: *Kabhi kabhi aditi flashback* Need I say more? XIC is St.Xaviers College campus so it is good. Be active and participate in everything that is happening in class. You will be exhausted after one point with the load of projects but don't give up. I promise you will make great friends here and will miss this place eventually.

A really good college

This is honestly one of the best colleges in my opinion. The college will provide its students with the right start to a beautiful career. Its absolute value for your money as the course and college justifies the time, effort and money that you give to the college. The studies plus the amazing atmosphere of the place inspires you to push yourself. The entire curriculum and extracurricular activities are designed in a way that it would shape the overall personality of a student that is just the right ingredient.

It is a great place to study media.

I feel lucky to be able to study in one of the most popular and talked-about colleges of India. The campus being nothing short of awe-inspiring. It feels great to walk the corridors and oh-so-cinematic quadrangle, previously trudged by (now popular) celebrity names. The faculty list boasts of well-established names in the media interacting with whom does leave one’s senses blown.
