The college offers holistic education giving equal thrust to professional and personal development. Vignana Jyothi started the Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering &Technology (VNR VJIET), was established in the year 1995 which was named after one of the donors and Vice Presidents of the Vignana Jyothi at Bachupally, VNRVJIET with affiliation to Jawarhal Nehru Technological University (JNTUH), Hyderabad was established with the permission of The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Government of Andhra Pradesh. The college is NAAC accredited with “A” Grade under autonomous status. The vision & mission of the college is to be a deemed university of Academic Excellence for National and International students meeting global standards with social commitment and democratic values and also to produce global citizens with knowledge and commitment to strive to enhance quality of life through meeting technological,educational,managerial and social challenges.

The college is located near JNTU and Miyapur. Good surrounding. Bus stand and taxi stand is very near to the college. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Rooms are clean and mess food is good. Classrooms and labs are well maintained. Library is huge. There are many clubs and societies in the college. Extracurricular activities are encouraged, many students participate and showcase their talent. About 80% of the students get placed in top MNC's. Faculties are supportive and helpful. They are highly experienced.
