UEM Kolkata is established in the year 2014 by Act No 25 of 2014 of Govt of West Bengal. Being located in New Town, the Smart City of Eastern India and very near to the Netaji Subhash International Airport, the students of the University are exposed to the top corporates. UEM Kolkata has stood one out of the top 10 institutes of India including all IITs and all NITs of the country in the NPTEL program ranked by IIT Kharagpur and IIT Chennai.

UEM has been established by the IEM group, Kolkata. The IEM UEM group is an acclaimed educational group amongst the industry-centred academic training organisations of today. IEM has set sublime standards in addressing the technical and managerial resource shortage in the new era of dynamic globalisation. Infrastructures

The UEM (Kolkata) campus is situated in the upcoming locality of Newtown, Kolkata, surrounded by lush greenery on all sides. The Campus has the best state of the art infrastructure with the provision for more in the days to come. The second building of the campus has also become functional enabling us to dedicate even more space for our research labs and study rooms for our students. The campus is located in fiftenn minutes driving distance from the airport in the smart city of East India - New Town. It is also ten miutes driving distance from the industrial area of Salt Lake Sector-5.

Extra discipline, but overall a cool college

The college campus and it's outside area is so cool that we enjoy so much. But sometime college shows over discipline. Overall the college was nice. The faculty members are friendly. In college everyone participate in many social and professional activities.

Our College has a great infrastructure and experienced faculty members. Every one provides us with a good quality education. There is some extra curricular activities class where we are taught some defence skill. There a facility of getting books from the library.

Friendship, discipline and too much strictness

The university is very good in terms of academics. At the very first day at the university we were told, "It is a school after school". And yes it's indeed. The university has morning assembly, prayer, etc., just like schools. Many professors are very enthusiastic and they try the best that they can do for us. One good thing is junior and senior relationship. We never faced any type of trouble from our seniors. They have helped us a lot than we could ever imagine.

The college conducts regular classes. Discipline is maintained. Curriculum is industry oriented. It has a free WiFi zone, well-equipped lab, well-maintained classrooms and library. The faculty members are well qualified and experienced. They use new and innovative methods while teaching.

A Great Engineering College in Kolkata.

Being part of the first batch to graduate from a university is always challenging and rather adventurous, and I've had a good time at UEMK. The faculty is great, teaching methods adopted are modern, and academic research, as well as industry exposure through guest lectures, workshops, science camps, technical conferences and fests, is highly encouraged. The course curriculum is highly streamlined and is not limited to the outdated curricula still followed by several universities. The University infrastructure is great for the most part, with two fully functional buildings, with a third one under construction and several plans for the future. Laboratories are brand-new and all computers, kits and instruments are in perfect condition. Classrooms are large and modern, equipped with projectors and sound systems. Common rooms are available with provisions for indoor games like table tennis and also fitness equipment like treadmills. The library is large and well-stocked, open 24x7 all year, and also has a number of computers with high-speed internet connections for research and academic use. It is open round the clock all year round. IEEE Xplore Digital Library, IGATE, DELNET subscriptions have been made available. 155 MBPS leased line, as well as Reliance Jio Wi-Fi hotspot internet facilities, are available on campus. There is a well-stocked medical room for any contingencies. There are three canteens and a great cafeteria as well. Various clubs and campus chapters are available which encourage student participation, including SPIE and OSA student chapters, a Photography Club, English Club and many more. UEM Kolkata stood #1 out of hundreds of colleges and universities across India including all the IITs and NITs in performance in the NPTEL program conducted by IIT Kharagpur and IIT Madras, and was also awarded the highest possible "AAA" rating.
