A Constituent College of Anna University Chennai was loomed in the year 2009 by the Government of TamilNadu. It is located in Thatchur, a small emerging area in Arni town, of Thiruvannamalai District. The town is about 50 km from Vellore and 140 km from Chennai. The college was mainly established to escalate a phenomenal education even to the remote areas empowering the young valiant minds in academic intelligence and enrooting absolute student qualities towards the pioneering technology.

At the time of establishment, the Institution has offered 4 undergraduate B.E. Degree programmes and an addition branch in Mechanical Engineering through Tamil as medium of Instruction has been introduced right from the academic year 2010-2011. Currently 1058 students have been enrolled for B.E. Degree Programme under various disciplines. Faculty of all departments possesses requisite qualifications with excellent Research records. Most of them are recognized as Research supervisors of Anna University Chennai. The rest of them have registered for Ph.D. and some are pursuing their Research in frontier areas of Engineering and Technology.
