Thiruvalluvar University creates a promising future by imparting higher education, which is lucid for all learners. The University came into existence in October 2002 at Vellore. It was founded by the Government of Tamilnadu under the Thiruvalluvar University Act, 2002. The University was inaugurated on 16.10.2002 as a State University by our Honorable Chief Minister SELVI DR. J. JAYALALITHAA. The campus of the Thiruvalluvar University is extended in an area of 112.68 acres at the Serkkadu near Vallimalai about sixteen km away from the Vellore City on the Ranipet-Chittoor Trunk Road. University imparts post graduate programmes through its well established seven departments, which are Tamil, English, Economics, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Bio-Technology. Thiruvalluvar University is a warehouse of colleges, currently university has 98 arts and Science College under its affiliation, in which 10 are government Arts and science colleges, 9 are aided Arts and science colleges, 3 are oriental title colleges, 72 are self financing Arts and Science Colleges and the remaining 4 are University Constituent colleges. The objective of the University is to provide facilities for advancement in Research and dissemination of Knowledge with focus on the Economic and Social upliftment of the society.

The university’s infrastructure is well equipped with all modern facilities including well furnished class rooms, Digital library, and Computer lab equipped with the latest technology/software, Communication & Psychometric lab, Canteen, Gymnasium, Common Room, Conference Hall and Syndicate Hall. AMS provides the perfect ambience for learning in a truly international environment and makes it an enjoyable experience for the students.

Class rooms are properly furnished with state-of-the art equipments which are well equipped with educational audio-visual systems, LCD projectors & Network connection for providing a conducive atmosphere for learning. The classrooms are also spacious, well lighted & well ventilated.
Laboratory
Computer Labs are well-equipped the latest microprocessors & V-Sat connectivity that integrates the use of IT in every discipline. The CRC has built an impressive library of software packages useful for management education and lab is equipped with 60 P-IV nodes on LAN system with free internet access through 512 Kbps broadband facility.
Library
The college library is well equipped with text books, study material, major dailies and popular magazines for both students and faculty. It is also well equipped with a large number of management books, foreign management, Bound volumes of periodicals, working papers, Dissertation, Summer Projects; Video Cassettes & Annual Reports of corporate companies are some of the major features of the library.
