SPM College is a well-known women’s college of Delhi University. It was established in1969 in the memory of distinguished academician and statesman Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherji. It has no affiliation with any sect, religion, political group, or thinking. 

The college motto "tejasvi vadhita mastu" in Sanskrit has a profound meaning. It is derived from the Taittiriya Upanisad. It means ---Let our efforts at learning be luminous (-tejasvi) and filled with joy, and endowed with the force of purpose (-vadhita mastu). 

The college is home to a highly accomplished faculty and excellent infrastructure that caters to the needs of over 3000 students. The infrastructure and amenities include a spacious building, sprawling lawns and playgrounds, a state–of–the –art, fully air-conditioned Auditorium, a fully computerized Library, a well-equipped Gym,  Seminar halls, an Audio Visual room, a Web Access Center and various other facilities. All the labs, seminar halls, and 30 classrooms are equipped with projectors.

Candidates seeking admission to B.El.Ed Programme should have cleared the higher secondary examination or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto with a minimum aggregate of 50 % marks.

Best college

Amazing infrastructure. Good surrounding. Perfect location. Good transport facility. Hostels are under-construction. Classrooms are well maintained. Canteen is good. Library has all kinds of books. Huge auditorium. Campus crowd is decent. Extracurricular activities such as events, fests, competitions etc are conducted regularly. Good placements are offered to the students by reputed companies. Teachers are knowledgeable. They provide good notes and information to the students. Overall the college is highly recommended.

Best college, campus area and atmosphere

its a very good campus, impressive and catchy. I feel very good in my college and others are happy too. The surroundings are fresh and they are refreshing. The garden is also good and teachers are cooperative. Everything is the best, I love the place and the people around me.

Review of the college

It is not one of the greatest colleges here but is definitely an amazing one. One the biggest plus points, is that this college is always clean no matter what the time is. The faculty is extremely nice, administrative work can get hard sometimes but in the end they always get the job done. The crowd is mixed. The council is very active and helps you when in need. Societies have mixed response regarding the college. Overall, i love to be here and i am actually enjoying myself a lot.

It is a lifetime experience !!

[COLLEGE NOT MENTIONED ON FB] Being a student of Shyama Prasad Mukherji College I can easily say that it is a very good college. The location of the college is good. Infrastructure is average but it is improving and the new building is going to be fully air-conditioned. Teachers are supportive. Studies are really good. A variety of extracurricular activities are held here. The ground is spacious. Canteen is awesome. You won't regret becoming a part of the college

Life of an off campus , hardly heard about college

The journey hasn't been like the DU life you dream of. It's nowhere near North and South Campus. The fest was never above average in these 3 years, the extra activities and sports weren't in sight anywhere. Won't recommend anyone to get admission here.
