Educational Qualification Applicants must either have appeared for (results awaited), passed or will be appearing for any of the following degree examinations before July 2017: Bachelor's degree in any discipline under the 10+2+4 (or more) systems, from any university or institute recognized by law in India. Diploma in design under the 10+2+4 system, from any university or institute recognized by law in India. OR Applicants must either have appeared for (results awaited) or passed, before July 2016, a Bachelor's degree in any discipline under the 10+2+3 system from any university or institute recognized by law in India. Note In case the degree/cerficate has been obtained from a university/board of any country other than India, an equivalent certificate must be obtained by the candidate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, prior to admission. Educational Qualification Applications for academic year 2017–18 are open to applicants who have passed or will appear for higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examinations in the academic year 2016–17 from any recognised board of education such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or their equivalent. Placement
National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmadabad has an active Placement Cell that continuously co-ordinates with various industries and organizations for placement of its students. It has already successfully placed a high percentage of students in industry. It actively obtains feedback from organization and conveys it to respective departments which, in turn, train students accordingly, thereby increasing their hit ratio. Several graduates have taken their place at different levels with reputed companies like Toshiba, Japan, Tata Consultancy Services, Ashok Leyland, and Oracle etc.
Infrastructures
The Institute has an excellent infrastructure which includes airy, Global Studies classrooms, a Global Studies stocked Library, Hi-tech Computer lab, Faculty Room and a Global Studies defined parking lot for students, faculty and visitors. Distinguished Industry drawn faculty mentors students and Industry visits, too, area routine feature.
Classroom
The lecture theatres are specially designed for interactive learning and are equipped with state of the art audio visual systems. Well appointed seminar halls for hosting talks by visiting industry heads, inter and intra college events, seminars, debates, workshops, etc.
Laboratory
The studio, workshop and labs become a bridge to the learning and realizing the design ideas. In most of cases at NID, the delivery of teaching and learning extends extensively to various labs/studios and workshops, as students are encouraged to come out with workable solutions/ oncepts/models/prototypes.
Library
NID's Library has a wide range of collection of books in its resources on design, science and technology, art & architecture, paintings, history, humanities, etc. Presently the collection has approximately 33,035 books.
