Private University Estd. 1952 NIRF #1 (Medical) 2024National Engineering College (NEC) is a temple of knowledge, producing impeccable engineers for the society. The NEC College was coined in the year 1984 under the self-financing scheme sanctioned by the Government of Tamilnadu G.O. No. 939 dated 20.07.1984 by the National Educational and Charitable Trust, Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi district. The College is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & affiliated to Anna University (AU). Imparting quality education is the only mantra of the college, which is provided by the eminent faculty of the college, who have heaps years of experience in their respective field. The mission of the college is to provide a conducive learning environment with an ambience of humanity, wisdom, creativity and team spirit.

College has a fully developed Training Counselling and Placement cell (TCP-CELL), which prepares dexterous and efficient professionals for the top notch firms of the nation. National Engineering College (NEC) is situated in the Land of Tamils in Tamil Nadu. The campus of the college spread in an over area of 150 acres. The campus of the College is well equipped with latest amenities like bank & ATM facility, canteen and transport. The well architect building of the college comprises with trendy classrooms, Extensive computing facilities with 610 terminals, Internet facility is 20 mbps DVB for Downstream, Self contained and separate block for each department. College also imparts dwelling and placement facilities for the students.
Classroom
National Engineering College (NEC) has classy classrooms which is fully air conditioned and packed with modern facilities like black boards, OHP, LCD, podium, tables and chairs. The classrooms facilities make academics’ conducive for students.
Laboratory
College has a separate computer centre, which is kit out with 84 Computer systems with 2 Nos of Intel Xeon Servers, One latest Multipurpose (Scanning, Photocopying and Printing) Laser Printer , One HP Laser Printer, One Line Matrix Printer, One Dot-matrix Printer, One true photo quality color Inkjet Printer, One HP color Scanner. College also imparts separate labs for each department, which is fully fit out with latest apparatus that assists learner in their research and projects.

The College has Central Library, which is one of the central support services of the Institution. The Central library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of CD-ROM, On-line databases, e-journals, e-books, audio video cassettes, books, journals, project reports etc.
