The Indian Law Institute (ILI) was founded primarily with the objective of promoting and conducting legal research.The objectives of the Institute as laid down in its Memorandum of Association are to cultivate the science of law, to promote advanced studies and research in law so as to meet the social, economic and other needs of the Indian people, to promote systematization of law, to encourage and conduct investigations in legal and allied fields, to improve legal education, to impart instructions in law, and to publish studies, books, periodicals, etc.Β The Institute is an autonomous body registered under the Societies, the Indian Law Institute has the requisite independence and academic freedom to carry out its objectives.

Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law | - | The minimum requirement for admission to the PG Diploma Course in Labour Law is a law degree or M.A. in Social Sciences (IInd Division). The Defence Service Officers holding graduate degree of an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University are considered for admission to the P.G. Diploma in Labour Law provided they are sponsored by the Directorate of Resettlement, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Candidates who have passed or appeared in the 4th year examination of LL.B. (five year course) from a recognised institute/university are also eligible for admission to Post Graduate Diploma Courses (except for Labour Law). Five seats each are reserved for these students. The admission will be made based on the marks obtained in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of the University examinations. | - |

The Indian Law Institute has placement portal automates the placement process at the college. Employers can use this portal to communicate with the College Placement Office and through necessary permissions manage campus recruitment and hire students and alumni online.

The Institute's Library is one of the best libraries in the country. It has more than 75000 titles. It subscribes to 270 current legal periodicals. JILI is one of the leading law journal. ASIL contains surveys written by academicians and practitioners.
